I never been with almost 4X4 before. however i used to go out to the desert with another group.
by the trip time, all gears will be ready.....
So, does this qualify me to joint your trip.....

It seems you miss the sands so much
But wait ... may be there will be something for 10+
Because I'd also like to try my new skid plate in the desert
