Hello Every one
I reach the meeting point on time and I found a lot of hungry members are already there, after deflating we enjoy the chitchat with almosers till AL Shamsi call gather up for the briefing, we split into 2 convoys the first was lead by al Shamsi and second was lead by Booy
I was in Booy Convoy (5+) I was the sweeper, our convoy was so big we were 17 cars and 3 cars floating, I will leave everyone to tell us his story but overall we had few second tries few stuck and one side airbag open in one car, the trip was started from al Badayer shops to pinkrock and ended in Big Red where we start playing on the dunes (Intermediate and above).
my advice for all, always keep a good distance to maintain your momentum for climbing and to not have crashed with the car in front or stuck cases, Radio communication is very important for reporting al clearance, 2nd try or suck.
i hade taken some photos in the back of convoy hope you will like it

Very nice and pleasant drive. I was in Booy’s convoy. We went up to higher dunes compared to the usual, but we did safari style dunes and it was not stressful at all. Very few cars got stuck and it was a pleasure to see the convoy moving like a snake through the dunes. The weather was also good! Definetely to repeat! As usual, thanks to the Almost4by4 organization. Impeccable as usual!

Hi ALMOSTers,
Arrived on time and group was divided in to 2 convoys, I was in the convoy led by bu salem. We did safari style which was fast pace and smooth. At one point the car in front of me got stuck right on the dune shoulder as I was right behind it so I had to stop fast aaand got stucked also but on the dune slop with the helpful instructions of the crew I got down safely and did a turn then crossed the dune.
Take out of the day for me, keep a safe distance based on the terrain ... more technical area = more distance.
Thanks to all the organisers and supporting crew for arranging such pleasant drives and handeling the situations safely.
Till next time

It was a great drive. I was in the 5+ convoy and enjoyed the safari style where we approached the dunes much faster. The convoy had very few second tries and rescues which allowed us to cover a decent distance. In the end it was very nice to join the other convoy at the Big Red and watch the intermediate and advanced members race the mountain.

So what to say.
The pause of the drive was swift, the track was too bumpy and allowed the convoy to accelerate more than they usual drives.
Couple of things that I noticed from being the tail of the convoy.
All communicate and specify if second tries are needed.
Keeping safe distance is essential and equally important is keeping the pace of the convoy, specifically in this safari styled route. Braking in the wrong spot could jeopardize the momentum of the people behind and get them into sticky situations.
An interesting thing happened with the safari car with Booy convoy where the sequoia decided to be fancy and cut through one of our rescue attempts. That was half the problem, where the driver later decided to circle me and start sliding down on me from an inclined dune, so I can say I wasn’t very happy with that.
Overall our convoy held up superbly, very few second tries and the ultimate goal of the 5-+ drives is no understand you’re 4x4 and prepare your self for higher level drives.
As always me and juggy are looking forward to the next drive! Over and out!

Another fine afternoon that ended with a beautiful sunset.
I was in alshamsi_m’s convoy. It was a hot day but for reason friday drives with almost4x4 are windy which take away some of the heat.
The drive went very smooth. A few 2nd tries but thats just part of the fun..
The drive ended at the Big Red to see the intermediates have some fun.
Cant wait for the next one.

Good bye July,
By now who ever has read the previous reports he/she has a pretty good understanding of the composition for the two convoys and the safari style driving as well as the aim of the drive which was to maintain safe distance and keep the convoys flowing
I was the third car in Booy convoy with Saeed FJ as a sweeper. The drive was relaxed with no major delays and very few incidents.
Overall the drivers did a good job cooping with the obstacles and the drive was completed safe and on time.
Now although in the paper I am an intermediate driver my mind is till in the 10+ mode so attending this drive I got to remember just few months back doing a similar drive and trying to completed while learning.
What amazed me the most was the comfort I felt. It is important for all of our new drivers to realize the fact ( and it is a fact) that sticking with the club and keep driving a day will come ( and I don't mean one day I mean just few months later) that you will be driving the same track drinking coffee and enjoying the views instead of stressing about the momentum and what speed I will need to have to climb the dune.
So keep driving focus of improving and perfecting the foundation of dune bashing and I promise you there are some great days coming ahead.
The end of the drive found both convoys sitting on the bottom of the big red watching the advance and intermediate drivers playing along other drivers.
P.S Big red is not that big of a monster its just a hill that you will get to drive up sooner than later. It just look big in relation to the knowledge.
Hope to see you all soon

Hello Everyone
another good drive after friday 13th. i was in Booys convoy which was 5+. we started from smaller to medium then bigger dunes.
few things that we learned is very important.
1. Radio Communication: if not done properly can lead to a major accident. it is not only about you say clear but you have to listen to marshals what they are instructing you and respond or act accordingly on what they instructed on the radio. its for your own safety. the Driver must use the radio himself to communicate not the passenger. because what driver can react to the instruction passenger cannot.
2. Proper distance: as you have seen in while climbing up on the bigger dunes you have to maintain the proper distance it will automatically help you to keep the flow and momentum. this was a good area to practice this skill. i believe it will help you a lot in LIWA drives.
3. Dont change the track of leading car because sometimes doing a shortcut can lead you the situation where you are not ready for. if any of the car following you can also be the victim. so for your own safety never try to change the track unless marshals instruct you.
it was a good drive and good weather help us alot to enjoy the drive more. in the end of the drive we sit down and saw the cars climbing up the big red.
thank you everyone for joining this drive.
See you all again in the sand. cool

the drive was really nice ... it didn't feel like a 5+ drive ... there were sometimes were the convoy was driving fast and smooth.
like my other friends here mentioned, radio communication is essential ! if you got stuck or had to make a second try just dont freak out and let the convoy know what you are planning for. the other important thing is when the convoy stops or slows down to cross a crest, find your self a good spot to stop and dont stick to the car in front of you because you may both end up stuck in a funny situation.
it was a nice drive and i had the chance to try my new big tires grin
